Who we are

We are a Protected Cell Company (PCC) for ancillary insurance business formed in September 2023 with the company being registered in Gibraltar.

The management team are experienced in the Gibraltar and UK insurance markets and they believed there was an opportunity to create an insurance PCC that can facilitate insurance businesses to create their own insurance cell to underwrite ancillary insurance products. Owners of a cell work with the management team to create bespoke products for distribution in the UK and retain the profit for the successful cell business.

Protect Insurance PCC Ltd has a credit rating (ICR) with AM Best of bb+ with a stable outlook. This rating also applies to our first cell, Cell Universal, and any new cell would also benefit from the Protect credit rating.

B Fair Gold Web AM Best have also allocated us a B ‘Fair’ BestMark Financial Strength Rating.

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and the company is registered under Company Number 123758. Gibraltar has a long-established insurance market which is overseen and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (www.fsc.gi) and we are regulated as a Protected Cell Company for insurance by them.

To help us manage the business we use the experienced insurance manager
SRS Management (Gibraltar) (Strategicrisks.com/Europe).

We have a credit rating with AM Best of bb+ which applies to us and all our cells.

Our core business is our own business and we ensure we are always well capitalised and exceed the minimum capital requirements set by the Regulator and the Solvency Capital Ratio. Each individual Cell is capitalised to underwrite the volumes of business set in their business plan.

We underwrite insurance policies in the United Kingdom and are part of the Financial Services Commission Scheme. The United Kingdom and Gibraltar have an agreement to continue the mutual recognition of their respective insurance policies post-Brexit.
